You have more feminist conventions in Australia! I had no idea that was a big deal over there.What is a typical “carnival” like?
Alix, it’s a blog carnival – a collection of themed blog posts from lots of different people, there’s heaps of them about on all sorts of topics. It’s a great way to find new blogs to read that focus on the things you’re interested in. Bloggers take turns to host the carnival on their site. Mind you, there’s an actual face-to-face Feminists Science Fiction conference on in Perth this weekend. Sadly that’s on the other side of the country from me or I’d be there for sure!
