Multi-tasking

Right at this very minute I am blogging, eating dessert and playing Star Munchkin with the family. Before doing this I did my declutter of the day while Adam cooked dessert, Tom practiced his flute, David cleaned up from dinner and Caitlin got changed for bed and put her laundry on. The Enjo and stuff cupboard and after…strangely roomy. When I’ve finished blogging and one of the family has managed to kill enough space monsters to win the game I will be settling in to an exciting evening of doing about 5 hours work that until this afternoon I thought … Continue reading Multi-tasking

Feel Good Friday

Feel Good Friday is a weekly meme hosted by The Girl Next Door Grows Up (click the button above to go visit her). This week Liz at Eternal Lizdom has stepped up to the mark to host while The Girl has a break. I’ve seen Liz and others post to the meme over past weeks, it’s a nice warm fuzzy idea and I could do with some warm fuzziness, so I’m joining in. I’m going with the list prompt – 5 things that made you really happy this week. 1. Our Yulefest holiday At the end of last week we … Continue reading Feel Good Friday

Sundays in My City

Hosted by Unknown Mami Last Sunday I wasn’t in a city, instead we had traveled back 1000 years and were in a pine forest near Armidale camping out for 4 nights with over 400 other people. I keep promising myself and others that I’ll produce the definitive post-holiday post but I still haven’t recovered enough for my brain to be up to the task, so you’re getting a pictorial teaser instead. Tom cooking quail Our tent, complete with replica viking queen-sized bed Battle lines Markets Bonfire on feast night The past is an awesome place to visit but I wouldn’t … Continue reading Sundays in My City

Sunday in my City – Photos from my phone

Hosted by Unknown Mami The building works at my kids’ school – they’re getting a new library, new loos and 2 new classrooms, all part of the BER government spending spree. The demountable classrooms that used to be where all that building work is going on had to be relocated to the oval, so the kids are missing half their sports field till it’s all completed. Luckily there’s a local park with a nice big oval just up the road so the kids can walk there for sport. There’s a bunch of other work been going on around the school … Continue reading Sunday in my City – Photos from my phone

Two more sleeps…

…till the kids are back at school. I’m not sure I’m ready for everything to start up again, I’ve been filling in the calendar with all the after school activities and realising that there’s a reason I end up slightly frazzled during term time. Caitlin has signed up for 3 dance classes and will be continuing with her singing lessons, Tom is planning on doing karate twice a week, continuing his drama classes and taking up flute lessons in order to play in the school band, David will hopefully continue with sword classes, Adam is doing a pottery course this … Continue reading Two more sleeps…

Picking up the pieces on a Fragmented Friday

Hosted by Mrs4444. I’ve been a bit scarce around the blogosphere this week on account of it not having been the greatest week ever, I tend to read but not post or comment when I’m stressed. I don’t really have much by way of amusement or fascination to offer today, rather I seem to be dumping a whole lot of whinging out for you instead. For fragments that might be a little more fun to read, head on over to Half-Past Kissin’ Time and find out what everyone else has on offer this week. **** On Sunday night last weekend … Continue reading Picking up the pieces on a Fragmented Friday

An afternoon at the beach

This afternoon, just after lunch, Adam decided to bake bread rolls. I do like that he’s impulsive sometimes but it would be nice if he didn’t so frequently decide that he can do something in x minutes when in actual fact it is going to take x minutes + 1 hour. Anyway, Tom had a great time helping to make the rolls so it was totally worth it! The bread rolls came with us to the beach, filling the car with the scent of freshly baked bread for the 40 minute drive. I completely failed to take a photo of … Continue reading An afternoon at the beach

The Book of Everything

Yesterday we took the kids to the Belvoir St Theatre to see The Book of Everything, I’d had the tickets tucked away in my diary for more than a year and had completely forgotten what the play was about, all I remembered was that it was meant to be good for ages 8 and up. From Australian Stage The Book of Everything | Theatre of Image & Company B Belvoir AUNTIE PIE: Have you thought about what you want to be when you grow up, Thomas? THOMAS: Happy. I want to be happy. The Book of Everything centres on nine-year … Continue reading The Book of Everything

Pictorial fragments from the past week

Hosted by Mrs4444. This week’s Friday Fragments has, very conveniently, been put off till Saturday which means I didn’t have to be incredibly rude and spend part of Christmas Day hiding away behind the laptop in order to participate. Of course just because I didn’t have to have net time yesterday doesn’t mean I stayed completely away…. I’m so addicted. Head on over to Half-Past Kissin’ Time for more fragments from the festive season. **** Our camping trip to Fingal Bay last weekend kicked off to a great start with us stuck in a traffic jam on the freeway, we … Continue reading Pictorial fragments from the past week
