I’ve had a horrible week of ear infections and misery, my brain has been mush all week and I’ve achieved nothing much other than watching lots of episodes of House on DVD. So I haven’t got much by way of fragments for you, but we’ll give it a go anyway.
You may remember back at the end of September the filming of the “I Do” marriage equality video? It’s been on Australian TV and been doing the rounds on Facebook and Twitter, but I did promise to link to it, so here it is – the finished product:
Caitlin is having a birthday party tomorrow, so tonight I have made 3 punnets of chocolate dipped strawberries, 2 slabs of chocolate brownies for a brownie ice-cream layer cake (I’m inventing off the top of my head – I’ll let you know whether it turns out ok!) and 36 chocolate crackles (which I seem to have done because my husband wanted them, I’m not at all sure anyone else in the family even likes the things). This party is leaning very heavily towards the chocolate side, wonder if that’s anything like the dark side, if it is the cookies are probably pretty good. (If that last bit makes no sense whatsoever to you, go here.)
On Thursday I was feeling particularly sorry for myself and decided to forgo the whole getting out of bed, getting dressed and going to do canteen duty at the high school thing in an attempt to let some actual getting better happen. Which would have been fine if I hadn’t completely forgotten that I’d agreed that Tom could bring a friend home with him on the bus from school. Nothing like greeting your 10 year old visitor dressed in pjs with crazy hair and a house that looks like a bomb has gone off. Oops. At that point I figured the damage had been done, organised them into getting some afternoon tea and went back to bed!
I’ll be up to my eyeballs in birthday party hosting tomorrow so visiting everyone else will have to wait till later but I’ll get there! No need for you to wait though, go visit Mrs 4444’s place and check out the other Friday Fragmenters!
All that chocolate sounds just delicious!! I am dealing with a very stuffy head myself; really getting quite tired of feeling this way…like anyone would ever like it!
Funny with your son and his friend..did he even notice??
It would have been pretty hard to miss! The same friend has been back here today so hopefully the dressed, groomed and tidy house version of me will be the one that sticks in his mind 🙂
Big Birthday Party doings here this weekend as well. Hope you are feeling better!
Hope you’re in a chocolate coma and feeling no pain.
Funny that you should be having ear pain, as I am, too (and I truly cannot remember ever having an earache in my adult. Tonight, I came across a homeopathic remedy–You’re supposed to take two drops of warm urine (they didn’t say whose)LOL and put them in your ear. Pack it with a cotton ball and let it sit in there five minutes (or something like that), then let it drain out. Hm. Pretty sure I’m not that desperate yet, but it sounds like you might be, so good luck. Let me know how it goes.haha
Is it too late to fly up and visit? I LOVE chocolate crackles. And all that other stuff sounds ace too. 🙂
I’m not sure about that urine cure above – even if (as I’m constantly reminding myself at work) urine is essentially sterile. I came up with a couple of theories as to how that home remedy might work, but dismissed both. Hmmm
