There’s a cat in a box
Toy mouse on the floor
A dog on a cushion 
Licking her paw

Other cats sleep
Perched high in the air
Or hogging a blanket
Loudly they purr

The kitchen is messy
We ate well today
We’ll clean up tomorrow 
Well, that’s what we say

There’s been board games
But none that went for too long
A fair bit of silliness 
Occasional song

The kettle is boiling
Day’s end drawing near
It’s been quite a good one
