The Evil League of Evil is watching!

If you haven’t already done so, get clicking over to Dr Horrible.com and watch Act 1. Then come back here and share your favourite bit. Really I just want to put the whole thing up but transcribing the lot would take a little too long so you get the Bad Horse song: Bad Horse! Bad Horse! Bad Horse! Bad Horse! He rides across the nation The thoroughbred of sin He got the application That you just sent in It needs evaluation So let the games begin A heinous crime, a show of force A murder would be nice, of course … Continue reading The Evil League of Evil is watching!

Yeah, it’s a bit on the repetitive side but books just happen to be one of my obsessions so I’m doing it anyway. The Big Read reckons that the average adult has only read 6 of the top 100 books they’ve printed. Well let’s see. 1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.2) Italicise those you intend to read.3) Underline the books you LOVE.4) Put an asterisk next to the books you’d rather shove hot pokers in your eyes than read5) Reprint this list in your own blog so we can try and track down these people … Continue reading Another Book Meme

You’re Prufrock and Other Observations! by T.S. Eliot Though you are very short and often overshadowed, your voice is poeticand lyrical. Dark and brooding, you see the world as a hopeless effort of people tryingto impress other people. Though you make reference to almost everything, you’ve reallyheard enough about Michelangelo. You measure out your life with coffee spoons. Take the Book Quizat the Blue Pyramid. Coffee spoons? Coffee spoons?! But I answered “yes” to the tea question! Damn it, now I’m going to have to find it and read it. I’m pretty sure the only T.S. Elliot I’ve read till … Continue reading Okaaaay….

I was tagged by Megan for this one. 1. One movie that made you laughI watched Death at a Funeral last night and laughed so hard there were tears. 2. One movie that made you cry I have a vivid memory of going to see Gandhi at Roseville Theatre when I was 12 years old and sobbing in horror during interval (back in the days when they still had an interval during a film – mind you, Roseville was old-fashioned, I doubt any other theatres were doing intervals) at what the British did to the Indian people. 3. One movie … Continue reading Movie meme

Dear god the STRESS!!

The continuing saga of the talent quest – Caitlin, not content to rest on her laurels after her singing, has decided to enter with a friend in the dancing section as well. Now, this would be all fine and dandy had they made this decision a couple of weeks ago instead 4 days before they have to officially enter. We need the song chosen and the choreography done by Monday. The girls have just spent an hour agonising over song choice and are at present toying with the possibility of using Greased Lightning. Looks like Caitlin’s friend will be coming … Continue reading Dear god the STRESS!!

Good day

It’s been a bit of a lazy day today, Adam “worked” from home so I was still in my pj’s when he took the kids to school. We did some planning together for getting things organised for the weeks ahead and bummed around the house doing nothing much. After lunch we headed off to the school to watch Caitlin do her bit in the talent quest and you know, just quietly, she was fucking awesome. I was so very proud of her, she sang unaccompanied, her voice was strong and clear and I reckon she hit pretty much every note. … Continue reading Good day
