Friday fragments

Hosted by Mrs4444. Whenever I come to write a Friday Fragments post I am reminded that it would be a very good idea to have a draft open all week and pop all the little bits and pieces of the week straight in there to be ready for sharing with the world at the end of the week. And then I remember that all those little bits and pieces are being loosed into the intertubes as they happen in the form of my tweets. But tweets are so ephemeral, they appear in people’s twitter feeds, scroll down the page and … Continue reading Friday fragments

Picking up the pieces on a Fragmented Friday

Hosted by Mrs4444. I’ve been a bit scarce around the blogosphere this week on account of it not having been the greatest week ever, I tend to read but not post or comment when I’m stressed. I don’t really have much by way of amusement or fascination to offer today, rather I seem to be dumping a whole lot of whinging out for you instead. For fragments that might be a little more fun to read, head on over to Half-Past Kissin’ Time and find out what everyone else has on offer this week. **** On Sunday night last weekend … Continue reading Picking up the pieces on a Fragmented Friday

Friday Fragments and Linkfest No. 14

Hosted by Mrs4444. I’ve less of my own fragments and more of the linkfest stuff to share this week. Don’t forget to pop on over to Half-Past Kissin’ Time when you’re done here and check out all the other Fragmented Friday-ers! **** After watching all three extended version Lord Of The Rings movies this week David came to me at bedtime tonight and asked “Where’s The Hobbit?” Amazingly enough I actually knew where one of our copies was. A few minutes later I could hear him giggling to himself as he read. To appreciate the true significance of this it’s … Continue reading Friday Fragments and Linkfest No. 14

Friday Fragments

Hosted by Mrs4444. I don’t seem to have all that many fragments to share this week despite having missed the weekly brain-dump last Friday. It must be something to do with being on holidays! Well, the kids are on holidays, the main difference for me is I’m doing all my paid work from home, I don’t have to drive anyone anywhere in the afternoons, I don’t have to argue about homework, and I don’t get any time completely alone. All of which is good except that last bit. I’m starting to get weirdly grumpy and I’m pretty sure it’s the … Continue reading Friday Fragments

Pictorial fragments from the past week

Hosted by Mrs4444. This week’s Friday Fragments has, very conveniently, been put off till Saturday which means I didn’t have to be incredibly rude and spend part of Christmas Day hiding away behind the laptop in order to participate. Of course just because I didn’t have to have net time yesterday doesn’t mean I stayed completely away…. I’m so addicted. Head on over to Half-Past Kissin’ Time for more fragments from the festive season. **** Our camping trip to Fingal Bay last weekend kicked off to a great start with us stuck in a traffic jam on the freeway, we … Continue reading Pictorial fragments from the past week

Friday Fragments and Linkfest No. 13

Hosted by Mrs4444. I won’t be around to comment on everyone else’s Friday Fragments till early next week, we’re off camping at the beach for the weekend – wish us good weather and kid-friendly surf! **** Monday morning’s car trip to school conversation went like this – Tom: Mum, how old do you have to be to mumble mumble mumble? Me: I can’t understand what you’re asking. Tom: *repeats* Me: It’s like you’re speaking a foreign language! Tom: How old do you have to be to have sex? Me: *enlightenment dawns, he was spelling S-E-X and I just wasn’t parsing … Continue reading Friday Fragments and Linkfest No. 13

Friday Fragments

Hosted by Mrs4444. Things about which I am glad: Despite my fears I did not have an excruciating back spasm and find myself swearing loudly in the middle of delivering my Parents & Citizens Association President’s report to the hall packed with the entire families of nearly every student at my kids’ school. When Caitlin tried to pick the front door lock with a stick this afternoon she broke a piece of stick off inside it thus preventing the key from fitting in the lock. The sliding security door uses the same key as the front door (which was the … Continue reading Friday Fragments

Friday Fragments and Linkfest No. 12

Hosted by Mrs4444. A tossed salad of bits and bobs from the week just gone with a touch of things to come for extra flavour. Be sure to pop over to Mrs4444’s place for other fragmentary offerings for today! 1. On Wednesday afternoon my 12 year old walked into the loungeroom , smiled at me and said “Hi Mum, you’re awesome.” I can live with that. 2. The second dwarf gourami is dead and we’re down to one rummy nose tetra in Tom’s tank. I’m not buying anymore fish till after Christmas, that should give all the tanks plenty of … Continue reading Friday Fragments and Linkfest No. 12

Friday Fragments

This Friday Fragments thing seemed like quite a good idea today seeing as I was rapidly running out of day and hadn’t come up with anything of substance to post. Mrs4444 has been fragmenting on a weekly basis for quite some time, in fact this week is her 70th Friday Fragments post and here I am embarking on my very first. Here goes! 1. I spoke too soon on the matter of no dead fish. When I went to kiss Tom goodnight last night I discovered one of the rummy nose tetras had expired, apparently they are quite sensitive to … Continue reading Friday Fragments
