I came home from work this afternoon and sat myself down on the front deck with my laptop, and a coffee, in the sunshine. We have sunshine on the front deck in winter because the liquid amber tree very considerately … Continue reading One ought not need an umbrella on a day like this
As I was walking back to my car after work on Tuesday afternoon I spotted this little fellow sunning itself on the edge of the driveway. I was carrying a backpack and a guitar case and didn’t much like my … Continue reading Mini wildlife
Hosted by Unknown Mami Today was Adam’s 42nd birthday. The day began with the obligatory breakfast and presents in bed and then on to some slight silliness with Christmas tree decorating. Caitlin asked Adam to put an angel on the … Continue reading Sundays in My City – Happy birthday Adam!

Please excuse this pseudo post for I am tired and do not have anything of substance in me tonight. I’ve started using my Tumblr account, I think I’ve figured out where it fits for me, it’s Twitpic and Facebook sharing … Continue reading Tuesday tidbits

This evening when I came home, after dropping Tom at his drama class and then dashing up to the shops to grab some groceries, I pulled into the driveway and in the process transfixed in my headlights a dumpy little ball of fluff that was about to venture up and over our roof. It was no doubt heading for the back deck in the hope that the birds had been fed today and that there might be some leftover apple cores to clean up. Apparently the thought of braving that vast expanse of tile while being watched was too much … Continue reading Well, hello there poss!
Hosted by Unknown Mami The building works at my kids’ school – they’re getting a new library, new loos and 2 new classrooms, all part of the BER government spending spree. The demountable classrooms that used to be where all that building work is going on had to be relocated to the oval, so the kids are missing half their sports field till it’s all completed. Luckily there’s a local park with a nice big oval just up the road so the kids can walk there for sport. There’s a bunch of other work been going on around the school … Continue reading Sunday in my City – Photos from my phone
I came home at 2:00am this morning after having spent the evening sitting around with a bunch of lovely friends having a few drinks and talking till we suddenly went “OMG is that the time!” As I walked down our very dark front path I caught some movement out of the corner of my eye. There, strung between the trees at the side of the path was a huge orb weaver’s web. If it had been across the path instead of beside it I’d have had spider web all over me from knee to noggin. Not to mention the web’s … Continue reading Arachophobes stay away!
We went to my mum’s place for dinner tonight, my brother’s family were also there. Mum had been looking after his 3 kids all day so I offered to provide the meal. My sister-in-law and one of their kids are semi-vegetarian (they eat fish, there’s a word for that I’m sure but I can’t think of it right now) so I decided to do Mexican because we could have meat and non-meat stuff. We had taco mince with red kidney beans, blue eye cod in fajita seasoning with coleslaw, refried beans with chili, a bean salad, shredded cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, … Continue reading We need a new car
