Last week I gained 1.7kg. This week I lost 0.7kg. *sigh* I really need to track properly, it’s the only thing that works for me and I can’t seem to make myself pick up a pen and do it. Adam and I were talking last night about our need to get moving on the health and fitness front, we keep promising each other that we’re going to stop talking and start doing so hopefully we can work together on this and keep each other on track. I did the meal plan for the week yesterday and all the shopping is … Continue reading Two steps back, one step forward.
I lost 0.6kg this week and I finally feel like I’m really starting to get somewhere again, it feels good 🙂 I had my first go at training with the Huscarls on the weekend, using a shield to defend against a spear attack, it’s hard work! Fun though. I didn’t think I’d be very much interested in the combat side of things but I can see how it could draw you in. Adam has finished making a pair of shoes for Caitlin and is working on a pair of boots for David, when they’re done I’ll post a pic. Conversation … Continue reading The walking is paying off!
I started my “walk the kids to school” campaign this week…again:P It takes about 25mins to get there and just over 15mins for me to get home again and I’ve decided we’ll be walking even if I have somewhere to be first thing. So on Tuesday, instead of dropping the kids off and driving straight the shops with half an hour to spare before Weight Watchers, I did the walk, got home, changed my clothes, did some laundry, packed the dishwasher and made it to the meeting with 30 seconds to spare. I had a loss of 0.3kg which, to … Continue reading Owwww, my feet hurt!
Because I spent a good part of the weekend reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and the new Bujold fantasy (Sharing Knife: Legacy), of the 2 the Bujold was by far the more satisfying. Rowlings just doesn’t seem to make me care about her characters *shrug*. Saturday morning was taken up with our first training session with the Huscarls, they were very welcoming and much fun was had, especially by the kids who ran around like mad things beating each other up with rubber swords. We joined up officially and plan on getting involved in all the stuff they … Continue reading Does marathon reading count?
…and here we are several months later. And here I am having gone pretty much nowhere in the weight loss stakes in the meantime *le sigh*. I’ve had a miserable few months, I worked out that during the 10 weeks of the last school term I was well for a grand total of one and a half weeks, I spent most of the school holidays still fighting off the last of the most recent cold and then topped that off by spending the weekend just gone with a gastric bug that had me pretty much bed-ridden for 2 days. If … Continue reading Time passes…
It seems I’ve been doing this thing where every second week or so I decide “this is it. I’m back on track and I’m going to make some serious progress”… but nothing much happens, or I do the two steps forward one giant leap back thing. It’s all getting very tedious and uninspiring. However, on Sunday I did something new, I did our menu plans for the next 2 weeks using the ones in the WW booklets. Whenever I’ve toyed with doing that before I’ve read through the main meals and been confronted with the vision of at least 5 … Continue reading Back to tracking
I was on my own doing the weighing at WW this week, we had 37 people come through so my leader was helping out, busy time! I lost 1.5kg, not sure how though, it’s not like I was actually doing the right thing at all. Anyway, it’s a nice place to be at to get back into things, hopefully there’ll be good news again next week. Continue reading Long time no blog
Took the kids shoe shopping today, $250 later and we’re all set for school. Tom won’t take his school shoes off LOL Which is good ’cause they should be nicely broken in before school starts and won’t give him blisters – he’s a barefoot boy most of the time so real shoes is going to be a bit of a shock to his feet. I’ve sent off the dance school enrolment form, Caitlin will be doing Ballet, Jazz and Tap this year and Tom is signed up for Jazz. I’m breathing a sigh of relief that none of the classes … Continue reading Monday mundanities
This week I am pleased to report my first loss since October! Oh dear…. Anyway, 1.3kg gone in the last week – WOOT! Which brings me to a grand total of 7.4kg lost in total 😛 At least I’m better off than I was this time last year and I’m still wearing clothes 2 sizes smaller so I think I must have swapped a bit of flab for muscle (at any rate it makes me feel better to think that LOL). When Adam came back from the US in early December he brought with him a Roomba and a Scooba. … Continue reading About bloody time!
